Step out of Alpura and set off straight away. With your little one along for the ride in a buggy, follow the idyllic forest path to the village centre and on to the barefoot trail in Inner Ratschings. With older kids, head into the impressive Gilfenklamm Gorge, where water carves its powerful path through marble. Or set off solo for a glorious jog to the head of the valley. Thanks to an altitude of around 1,000 to 2,200 metres above sea level, the air here is especially clear and the climate is beneficial for your health. Even the hay from our Alpine meadows is suitable for allergy sufferers.

At Alpura, we harness nature’s own energy cycle. Our rooftop photovoltaic system supplies the house with sustainable electricity, while our woodchip heating system – fuelled by timber from local forests – and our biomass plant generate heat and energy in an eco-friendly way. To use the energy efficiently, we also rely on heat recovery, a power optimisation system, and a combined energy network. So when you’re enjoying a soak in our warm pools heated to 34 to 38 °C, you can rest assured: your holiday isn’t a burden the Ratschings mountain landscape – it honours what makes this area so special.

Our private spring is the reason we feel such a deep connection to the element of water. It supplies our entire five-star retreat with pure, healthy mountain spring water – from refreshing sips straight from the tap to warm baths in the hot tub at your chalet or penthouse suite. And when you walk barefoot through the little stream in the park and follow its course to the natural pond, you’ll feel the calming yet invigorating power of this fascinating element.

In our hotel’s private park, the diversity of the Ratschings Valley is reflected down to the minute details – from play and fun on the adventure playground to jumping in hay and real tractor rides for all ages to enjoy. What makes it so special: spread over 10,000m², there’s space not only for making unforgettable holiday memories, but also for nature itself. In the natural pond, sturgeon, brown trout, golden trout and char swim in circles through crystal-clear mountain spring water, while our goats leap joyfully around the climbing tree. In the enclosure, you’ll also find rabbits and guinea pigs, alpacas, ponies, chickens, curious goats, and Valais Blacknose sheep. Fancy a cuddle? They’re always more than happy to oblige. If you’d rather feel the quiet power of nature, take a stroll through our herb garden and let the essential scents of rosemary, sage, and much more enchant you.

Protecting the environment and your health: this philosophy guides our special brine treatment used in five of our nine pools. In the baby and toddler pool, the experience pool, the XXL whirlpool by the natural pond, and both the hot whirlpool and outdoor whirlpool in the sauna area, you’ll bathe in a completely chlorine-free and skin-friendly way – ideal for allergy sufferers, sensitive skin types, and our littlest guests who need extra care.

Set off with a buggy, hop on a bike, or in winter, reach the ski slopes in just 3 minutes via our electric hotel shuttle – a car-free holiday offering even more experiences. 

If you arrive by train, bus, or plane, we’ll pick you up with our comfortable electric hotel shuttle (for a fee). What’s more, you can charge your electric vehicle at Alpura using our state-of-the-art EV charging points.
