A photovoltaic system on the roof of Alpura generates electricity. A wood-chip system fuelled with timber from local forests and a biomass plant also contribute to the hotel’s heat and energy supply. Heat recovery, together with a power optimisation and integrated control system, completes the hotel’s technical energy infrastructure.

While you relax in the pools, heated to between 34 and 38°C, these systems work quietly in the background as part of Alpura’s energy supply.

Our private spring is the reason we feel such a deep connection to the element of water. It supplies our entire five-star retreat with mountain spring water – from refreshing sips straight from the tap to warm baths in the hot tub at your chalet or penthouse suite. And when you walk barefoot through the little stream in the park and follow its course to the natural pond, you’ll feel the calming yet invigorating power of this fascinating element.

In our hotel’s private park, the diversity of the Ratschings Valley is reflected down to the minute details – from play and fun on the adventure playground to jumping in hay and real tractor rides for all ages to enjoy. What makes it so special: spread over 10,000m², there’s space not only for making unforgettable holiday memories, but also for nature itself. In the natural pond, sturgeon, brown trout, golden trout and char swim in circles through crystal-clear mountain spring water, while our goats leap joyfully around the climbing tree. In the enclosure, you’ll also find rabbits and guinea pigs, alpacas, ponies, chickens, curious goats, and Valais Blacknose sheep. Fancy a cuddle? They’re always more than happy to oblige. If you’d rather feel the quiet power of nature, take a stroll through our herb garden and let the essential scents of rosemary, sage, and much more enchant you.

In the kitchen and the spa, wherever possible, we use high-quality products from farms and producers in South Tyrol and the surrounding region – from meat, fruit, and vegetables to fresh dairy products.

Five of our nine pools use a special chlorine-free saline water treatment system: the baby and toddler pool, the adventure pool, the XXL whirlpool by the natural pond, and the Hot Whirlpool and Outdoor Whirlpool in the sauna area.

Here, the water is treated without chlorine – from a child’s first splash to a quiet soak in the whirlpool.

Many experiences begin right outside the hotel: set off with the pushchair, cycle into the valley, or, in winter, take the electric hotel shuttle to the slopes in just three minutes. This means that many journeys during your stay can be made without using your own car.

If you arrive by train, bus, or plane, we can collect you from the station or airport with the electric hotel shuttle. This service is available for a fee. Charging stations are also available at Alpura for your electric vehicle.
